Space is the name of today’s residential real estate game, and suburbs are the new frontier, says Kathryn Richlen, a 20-year veteran of luxury real estate in Boston’s western suburbs.
“New or established homes, it doesn’t matter. They’re looking for outdoor spaces, home offices, pools, space for the kids to have playrooms, and dog space,” she says. Even older buyers are coming back to the suburbs, she says. “It started with the pandemic. Now it has been kind of a trend. People are realizing all of a sudden it’s nice to live in the suburbs and have your car in a garage. It feels good to sit outside and barbecue. Out here, people used to think it was boring and now the trend is coming back.”
Richlen, #1 agent in Massachusetts and Coldwell Banker for 2019, brings a wealth of knowledge of the area to her clients, as well as hands-on direct service as a solo professional. “I treat every client with concierge service, whether it’s a listing for $1 million $5 million or $10 million.
When people hire me, they get me.” Her sales territory is primarily focused on the “three w’s” of Weston, Wellesley, Wayland, in addition to Dover, Lincoln and Sudbury. With a team of marketing specialists in place, Richlen’s listings are supported by photos, videos and virtual tours to offer a seamless process for the prospective buyer. “Expertise and experience are a priceless combination,” she says. “And after 20 years of negotiating luxury properties, I understand the market.”
