Maggie Lawler unveils her wardrobe inspiration—and decodes how to stand out in a sea of sartorial sameness.
I never expected that...
Boston would so easily feel so much like home! I moved here from New York City and immediately felt so comfortable here. Boston has my heart now, and I’m so grateful I’ve put down roots.
To me, style means...
enhancing an aesthetic, but letting the best features speak for themselves. I think this goes for the style of our clothing, our homes, everything. I also truly believe style goes beyond aesthetics, and when I think of stylish qualities I admire in others, it’s far more all-encompassing.
Designers I love to support are...
usually local—I’m almost always wearing a bracelet by local designer April Soderstrom, and I love the curated collections at shops like Viola Lovely. I’m also a believer in great consignment, and I really like Boomerangs on Washington Street for both shopping and donating; all of their proceeds go to AIDS Action.
My hope for the future...
is that we’ll collectively learn from the experiences of this year, take less for granted and support each other more.
