White Barn Inn Restaurant celebrates 50 years with a can’t-miss calendar of programming and events throughout this year.
Warm wood accents complement natural light and an abundance of delectable dishes in White Barn Inn Restaurant.
In 1973, the White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection (aubergeresorts.com) unveiled its fine dining establishment, White Barn Inn Restaurant. And ever since, it’s become one of the most sought-after culinary destinations in the area as a AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star restaurant with executive chef Mathew Woolf at the helm. “Since launching as a fine dining establishment in 1973, White Barn Inn Restaurant has continued to be one of the most sought-after culinary destinations in the Northeast,” says general manager Daniel Braun. “Achieving this culinary milestone is a testament to our resort’s spectacular team, who deliver exceptional experiences, high-level service, culinary journeys and heartfelt hospitality that celebrates the Inn’s beloved destination.”Guests can enjoy a lobster bake each week this summer, complete with all the traditional fixings.
To mark the milestone, the team has a chockfull program of can’t-miss events throughout the year. This spring, alone, lucky guests experienced a dinner event with chef Ed Gannon, who oversaw the Inn’s culinary program from 1989 to 1992; Cabane a Sucre, a lunch inspired by the Canadian sugar shack traditions where long communal tables are filled with food and maple syrup; and Bananas Foster Night, where chefs brought back the classic dish that had been available on the property’s original menu. Up next: A dinner event with chef Jonathan Cartwright (June 9), who was executive chef at the property from 1995 to 2015; a lobster bake each week throughout the summer with fi reside cocktails and a closer look at the Inn’s custom-made lobster cages; and a dinner event with chef Matt Padilla, the most recent chef to helm the Inn before Woolf (September 29).The historic main house at White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection
Rounding out the festivities is the Finale 50th Anniversary Dinner Event (November 3-4), which will be the concluding unforgettable celebration with Woolf and a dinner featuring plates inspired by each chef’s time at the Kennebunk, ME resort. “It is about guest experiences, especially when looking at new, younger audiences. Through these one-of-a-kind events and programming, we aim to welcome new and returning guests, as well as the local community, to experience the Inn’s exceptional luxury hospitality while also providing an exciting opportunity to encounter something new,” explains Braun. For those looking to continue the celebration outside the event, a 50 Years of White Barn cocktail featuring Louis XIII French cognac is available on the fine dining menu throughout the year. Braun adds, “I am very much looking forward to the celebrations, as they are an amazing opportunity to bring the Kennebunk community together over good conversation, unbeatable hospitality and inspired cuisine.”
