On Nov. 13, watch rock ‘n roll’s most iconic photographer in the award-winning documentary “Show Me the Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall” at a local gallery.
No one quite captured the faces of rock ‘n roll like photographer Jim Marshall. From his iconic images of Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones to the Beatles’ last paid concert, he lived up to his name as the godfather of rock photography. Explore his legacy and work on Nov. 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Leica Gallery Boston’s private film screening of “Show Me the Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall.” Winner of the San Francisco International Film Festival’s Audience Award in 2019, the documentary details the artistic process of Marshall’s famous photographs from the 60s and 70s, featuring noteworthy cast members like Galadrielle Allman, daughter of The Allman Brothers’ Duane Allman. Following the screening, Marshall’s estate owner, Amelia Davis, and former Editor-In-Chief of LIFE Magazine, Bill Shapiro, will host a conversation, taking an in depth look at his personal life and the world-renowned legacy he left behind.
