The chic home is equally comfortable and casual for the client’s family-centric lifestyle.
Designing a truly unique home is no small feat. Trendy pieces, styles and colors generally seep into every project until everyone has the same Mario Bellini sofa—all but this property. When Nancy Hill’s client said, “I do not want what everyone else has,” a distinct vision materialized. The Boston Architectural College alumna and founder of Nancy Hill Interiors (nancyhillinteriors.com) was tasked with creating an elevated, modern, classic space with vintage-inspired furnishings and statement art pieces. “Their goal was a timeless and sophisticated environment that reflected their discerning taste and passion for unique style,” she shares. And Hill did just that.
The client’s art collection offers a wow factor in each space.
The three-story home, boasting five beds and six baths, is splashed with eclectic touches, pops of color, eye-catching patterns and an envious art collection. Warm accents welcome you into the entryway, from light wood herringbone floors to natural light flowing through a palladium window. Contrasting black elements add interest, like a Made Goods Aldrich console table, a Steven King rug and an aloe vera-sharped Jeremy Cole pendant. Down the hall, the main living room is reminiscent of a pop-art painting. Cream-hued walls and custom seating are dotted with brushes of red, yellow and blue pieces, including Pierre Frey-wrapped pillows.
Beautiful views of the property await around every corner.
Original artworks by the client’s father grace the walls, creating a gallery-like homage to his legacy. “We showcased his passion and talent from his advertising days by using his pieces as the foundation for the home’s color palette and furnishings,” notes Hill. More stunning details continue into the all-white kitchen, where a white and gray quartz island anchors the space. Above hangs a simple yet sophisticated Tracy Glover custom dimple cluster chandelier, while white and black Artistic Frame Arno chairs sit below. Adjacent awaits a bright sunroom.
A cozy yet stylish bedroom

A casual, everyday spot to dine sits adjacent to the kitchen.
The space boasts a warm, inviting ambiance thanks to pieces like a vintage white table and Roberta Schilling sofa. However, a Palecek chair with rattan and abaca rope strings is the focal point, wrapped in Schumacher’s brown overlapping dashes fabric. “The one-of-a-kind finds add a funky, personalized touch, ensuring their home is anything but cookie-cutter,” says Hill. “They create a story and make the house truly their own.”
