French luxury fashion house Chanel has wowed the fashion world once again with a dramatic Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show in Paris. Hitting all the marks of Chanel’s classic and elegant vision, the looks continue to evolve feminine fantasy.
Designs flowed down the runway with airy sophistication, courtesy of designer Virginie Viard. The lightness of silhouettes with soft petaled flowers, delicate embroidery, and wisps of feathers captured the softness of spring and summer beautifully.

Princess Charlotte Casiraghi rode horseback down the runway to open the dream-like show. The fashion house ambassador and model wore a black sequined and tweed jacket, turning the heads of famous spectators Margot Robbie and Pharell Williams.
Following the dramatic entrance of Casiraghi’s “equestrian curves,” the couture pieces were an ethereal sight to see. From satin that laid like liquid, to the classic Chanel embroidered suit and dress with feathers and sequins, the models glowed and strutted like a breath of fresh air.
Elegance and delicacy sang through the designs of Viard, while classic black and white pieces with intricate lace and stones created textural contrast. The Spring/ Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection showcased elevated realism, bringing all eyes to the models and the pieces of art they represented.
For the first time ever, Chanel looked to a contemporary artist to design the staging of a show. Designer Xavier Veilhan’s vision of a modest reality mixed with a contemporary constructive fantasy emphasized the lightness and realness of the models and the fashion house.
Taking place at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, Veilhan created a combination of an open theater and constructed landscapes. With the use of simple materials like plywood and stage risers, the combined catwalk and seating supported the shining of light on the designs, being a strong base for the show to come alive on.
Complimenting the show was a live music performance by Sébastien Tellier that brought the audience into a dramatic fairy tale with disco and techno beats. The musical talent of Tellier helped create the story of the designs as the models flowed through the runway. Elevating the designs of Viard through the sense of hearing.
Through the vision of the revolutionary artists, the elegance and timeless values of CHANEL shone through. See the 11-minute runway presentation in the video below, and read more about the Haute Couture show at Chanel.com.
