The Four Seasons of glampers awaits your next adventure.
Sperry Tents make for the ideal entertaining and relaxation space.
Details, Details
While sailcloth tents have been Sperry Tents’ (sperrytents.com) specialty for the past three decades, President of Sperry Fabric Architecture Matt Sperry has had luxury glampers on his mind for a long time. “Fifteen years ago, I lived in a yurt with my wife for almost two years while building our house,” he explains. “In fact, that yurt was probably the precursor to this glamper.” Now camping has never looked so good, thanks to his glampers that launched this May. The 24-foot round, 12 ½-foot high canopy features an allweather durable sailclothlike material, hoisted by a solid spruce pole milled by the founder, Steve Sperry, at his private home. Modeled after a bell tent, it has an elegant yet earthy design with soft lines and a skylight detail for stargazing on warm, summer evenings. “At night, with lights on, the whole glamper glows,” says Sperry. “The skylight looks cool, but it also brings light into the tent, letting you see out into the landscape so you don’t feel confined. When it rains, it feels very cozy, with the pitter-patter of raindrops hitting the fabric.”
In 2023, Sperry Tents will be available for rental stays in various picturesque settings around New England.
Glamp Guide
With a stunning, neutral-toned glamper as the backdrop, your perfect night under the stars awaits, and New England-based event planner Mavinhouse (mavinhouse.com) is here to help: Think festival-style weddings, creative dinners, cocktail soirees, luxe girls nights and more. From the inside out, start with lowto- the-ground bohemian furniture; layered, patterned rugs; string lights up the center pole; and candles for a cozy atmosphere. “Rattan furniture gives off a homey vibe that works well with the style,” shares Kristina Kuusik, a Mavinhouse event planner. “A jute rug complements the aesthetic as well, while earth and neutral tones with a pop of color like green or orange make for a punchy color palette.” The lounge setup creates the perfect backdrop for golden hour sips that are comfortable yet chic. Outside, Sperry Tent owners can add a deck beneath their glamper, extending their retreat beyond the canopy walls. “You can create a little getaway in your very own home—a cozy escape to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine,” explains Mavinhouse event planner Liz Pruitt. “String bistro lights above to create a ‘starry night’ feel, and set up plants or candles—with woodsy or earthy scents—to enhance the ambiance.” Now, weekend getaways are closer than ever.
