The view from the Shoreside rooms
Step out onto your private patio which seems to hover above the ocean and listen to the waves crash against the rocky coastline in front of the iconic Nubble Lighthouse. The luxury Viewpoint Hotel’s (viewpointhotel.com) new Shoreside rooms offer quintessential Maine with a modern approach.
The private patios
They were built and designed in partnership with NYC-based CR Design (cr.design) and are made of poured concrete to mimic the rocky shores below. The material lends itself well to the midcentury modern interiors that are warmed with pops of natural textures like custom woven headboards fitted with planters, carved round wooden tables and jute area rugs.
The Nubble Lighthouse
Get cozy when the sun fades by firing up the electric fireplace that runs along one wall and turn on the king beds’ amber underlighting to create a soft and calming glow. The commercial grass roofs hide the rooms seamlessly and have sustainability benefits—they absorb rainwater and provide insulation to regulate temperature in an energy efficient way. The green roofs also allowed for the inclusion of a new Ceremony Perch with a glass ceiling for unobstructed wedding views.
The Shoreside rooms carved into the landscape.
Stone stairs and a path lead down to the ceremony lawn. Engaged couples have the option to rent the entire property which includes a 900-square-foot saltwater pool heated to 80 degrees, beach club service with a private shuttle to and from nearby Long Sands Beach, bikes, and a well-equipped fitness studio with Peloton treadmill and bikes and a Hydro Rower. Say I do with the ocean as your backdrop.
