Those who dream of summering in Greece can satisfy their Mediterranean cravings at AMBA (ambacambridge.com)—a new cafe landing in Cambridge. The concept from chef Will Gilson’s Cambridge Street Hospitality Group, famed for Puritan & Company and others, takes its name from a pickled mango sauce that started in India and made its way through the Middle East. Nestled in the new First Street Market between Kendall Square and Cambridge Crossing, AMBA will welcome foodies to enjoy a culinary counter-style experience with diverse fl avors dotting the menu: think spiced rotisserie chicken, pastries from chef Brian Mercury and farm-fresh delicacies. A curated beverage program completes the experience, boasting La Colombe coffee alongside various wines, beers and cocktails.

The talented duo behind the beloved eatery, Forage, brought a new farm-to-table restaurant to Dedham in May. Seeing the area overrun by big chains, chef Eric Cooper and owner Stan Hilbert were inspired to create a lively community-focused restaurant. Few & Far’s (fewandfardedham.com) menu features locally sourced seasonal delights alongside natural wines, local brews and handcrafted cocktails. Picture an inviting yet sleek dining room for 75 where you can gather with friends and family for unforgettable duck fat roasted potatoes, hanger steak and orecchiette pasta with pork sugo.

After nearly a decade apart, culinary stars Monica Glass and Ken Oringer have entered a new partnership to introduce Verveine Cafe & Bakery (verveinecafe.com). To the delight of local foodies, the Cambridge eatery opened its doors on May 6, welcoming customers inside their intimate 24-seat restaurant. The concept takes inspiration from vintage Parisian bakeries with built-in glass pastry displays and a main counter embellished with teal hand-glazed tile and custom jet mist granite. Anticipate flaky pastries, artisanal breads and delectable pizzas made with Glass’ secret ingredient—WLDFLR, her new brand of carefully crafted gluten free flour blends. Indulge your cravings with delights like their spicy chili biscuit sandwiches. Those in need of a pick-me-up can also order cups of divine coffee and tea from Atomic Coffee Roasters.
