These gents have style in spades. A closer look reveals the personalities behind all that panache.
SALVATORE MALAFRONTE
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, SALON MARIO RUSSO
Sitting in a stylist’s chair for the first time can be intimidating. No need to fear a thing if Sal is wielding the scissors. The Rhode Island native moved to Boston and got a job in the esteemed Salon Mario Russo (mariorusso.com) while he was still in hair school. His career flourished and he stayed loyal, eventually becoming the artistic director for the salon. When he isn’t taming the tresses of his dedicated following, he’s the lead stylist for the Miss MA/ME USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. For the past couple of years, he’s stepped out on stage as the host, proving he’s as comfortable with a mic in hand as he is with his scissors.

SIDNEY BAPTISTA
FOUNDER & CEO OF PYNRS PERFORMANCE STREETWEAR
What does it mean to “make it?” Sidney thought it meant a job at one of the Big Four accounting firms and an even bigger paycheck. But those days brought anxiety and sleepless nights. To cope, he laced up his sneakers, went for a run and inadvertently changed his life. He created Pioneers Running Crew in the spring of 2017 with the goal of seeing people of all shapes and colors running on his hometown streets of Dorchester. Next came PYNRS (pynrs.com), a streetwear-inspired apparel company featuring inclusive sizing and recycled fabrics. It’s the first Black-owned running-specific apparel company in the country. Looks like someone is making his mark.

DAVID SUPPLE
PRESIDENT & CEO NEW ENGLAND DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
There’s a big difference between learning how to do something and actually knowing how to do it—a difference David found out the hard way. After studying architecture at Tufts University and training for three years in California as an architect, he realized that academic theory didn’t always translate well in real life. In order to learn the literal nuts and bolts of the business, he took a job as a carpenter. In 2005 he founded New England Design & Construction (nedesignbuild.com), born from a new passion to return the architect to the original role of master builder. The company now employs a team of designers, architects and master artisans who all work together on residential projects.

JALEN MILLS
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SAFETY
Jalen Mills, or “Green Goblin,” might just be the nicest villain you’ll ever meet. The New England Patriot (patriots.com) began dying his hair green when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles, and was soon nicknamed after the iconic Marvel character from Spider-Man. In obvious ways, the name makes sense as Jalen possesses superhuman strength both on and off the field. He played football collegiately LSU, received First-Team All- American honors and was drafted by the Eagles where he played his first five seasons, winning a Super Bowl title in 2018. A Patriot since 2021, Jalen debuted a clothing line called TheMoodIs$et, which has been worn by athletes such as Jayson Tatum and Mickey Williams.
