In honor of our Feast issue, we asked contributors, “What is your favorite dish in Boston?”
The fried chicken at Southern Proper has always been a crowd pleaser.
“When you’re always covering new restaurants, you’re constantly discovering new dishes, so my favorite plate is usually found wherever I ate last. Right now, it’s the fried chicken at Southern Proper, a South End restaurant offering smart takes on comfort food. But ask me again next week!”
“My favorite restaurant in Boston is Island Creek Oyster Bar. It shines like a star in my mind because of its glimmering ambiance and delicious menu offerings, not to mention the fun conversations I’ve had with friends while there!”
“Crazy Alfredo at Carmelina’s in the North End. I first tasted this amazing pasta dish—chicken, sausage, sweet roasted red peppers tossed with fettuccine in a spicy Alfredo sauce—when, as a UMass student, I worked as a waitress at the original Carmelina’s restaurant
in Hadley.”
“My favorite dish is the Pato Braseado (roast duck in blackberry sauce) at Dali in Somerville. It’s absolutely the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and the meat is the most tender and delicious I’ve ever had.”
