Looking for a new watch? Head to the first block of Newbury Street. The esteemed stretch between Berkeley and Arlington has always been the headquarters for high-end designers, but the new tenants are concerned with what’s adorning your wrist. Richard Mille, Vacheron Constantin, Hublot, IWC and Panerai are all within feet of each other. And joining the ranks this month is local jeweler Long’s with their new store featuring one of the largest Patek Philippe salons in the country.

No stranger to the block, Long’s opened a Rolex boutique in 2021, which will be directly across the street from their latest venture—a two-story space designed in collaboration with Patek Philippe’s Geneva team. Using a mix of stone and wood, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and luxurious. “We collaborated quite a bit on how we wanted it to look and how we wanted it to function,” says president Craig Rottenberg. “There are beautiful watches, but the space is also very hospitality-focused. There are seating areas all over, there’s a bar where clients can have a coffee or a glass of champagne and there are semi-private areas and private rooms. It’s just absolutely stunning,” The second floor will be a new take on Long’s—a bright, beautiful space showcasing some of the most spectacular jewelry the business has carried in its storied 150 years.
This opening will join one of only about 40 Patek Philippe retailers in the country. “I don’t say this often,” says Rottenberg, “but it’s an honor.”
