Ceremony & Reception: Private Residence
On Valentine’s Day in 2019, Boston Common’s former Editor-in-Chief Lisa Pierpont found herself sitting at a table, by herself, at her favorite neighborhood restaurant, Aquitaine. No, she wasn’t dining alone, but her then-boyfriend of six years, Brant Binder, had just excused himself to use the men’s room. “I remember saying to myself, ‘Oh my god, we are never going to get married. It’s Valentine’s Day. Dinner is over. It’s just not going to happen,’” Lisa says. But she was wrong. Upon returning to the table, Brant proposed with a round center-cut diamond dotted with side pear-shaped diamonds from a private designer in L.A.
The reception took place in the sun room of the main house and made guests feel as if they were inside an enchanting snow globe thanks to soft candlelight, saturated white flowers and crystal “vines” that hung from the windows.
A year and a half later, the couple said “I do” in the backyard of their home surrounded by 20 family members and friends. The reception followed, and took place in the sun room. “We wanted our families to feel as though they were entering an enchanting snow globe,” the bride says of the decor, which featured white flowers and soft candlelight.
Lisa opted for white Jimmy Choos to accent her custom-made gown.
As the evening came to a close, guests were given favors of Hawaiian shirt-shaped cookies (the groom’s favorite article of clothing) and an even sweeter reminder of the nuptials.
