Makeup guru Bobbi Brown is changing the game with Jones Road (jonesroadbeauty.com), a new concept store at The Street in Chestnut Hill.

How did Jones Road come about?
When I left my namesake brand in late 2016, I started working on several projects, including a boutique hotel in New Jersey and a collection of wellness supplements. Then MasterClass called me to do a makeup class, and it brought me back to being a makeup artist again, which is my true passion. Jones Road is a lifetime of beauty knowledge distilled into a collection of clean, simple-to-use products designed for all skin tones and skin types.

What can you say about the Boston location, which is opening in August?
I’m excited about the Chestnut Hill opening because I went to Emerson College and majored in theatrical makeup. Boston is where I first started doing makeup so it’s a full circle moment for me. This store will offer our full collection of Jones Road products and will have Jones Road makeup artists on hand for shade matching, product inquiries and makeup applications in the store (with advance booking available).
Is natural beauty trending again?
I have never considered “natural beauty” a trend since it’s what I’ve been doing for nearly 40 years as a makeup artist. I believe that most of us look better with less makeup on. We don’t have to cover our freckles or contour our noses: I think our imperfections make us uniquely beautiful.
