Mother’s Day is around the corner, and Coach knows just how to help you celebrate.
Coach has happily debuted a new campaign for Mother’s Day. “I Got It From My Mom” stars Coach Family members Jennifer Lopez, Noah Beck, Tommy Dorfman and Jessica Kelly posing with their loved ones.

The theme references Coach’s legacy as bags are proudly handed down from older generations to the young. This launch also highlights Coach’s Pillow Tabby, Madison Shoulder Bag and the role mother figures play in the casts’ lives.
Toward that goal, Coach gifted a bag to model Kelly’s daughter. As the niece of Neo-expressionist painting legend Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kelly truly marches to her own drum—just one of the gifts she got from her mom.
“When I hear ‘I Got It From My Mom’ I think about somebody’s energy, somebody’s physical appearance, maybe the way that they dress,” Kelly says. “My mom loves showing her legs, and I’m the same way. So I think about those things…I’m a multi-tasker like her
How did Kelly come to star in this latest Coach campaign? Her career path has been no straight line. In college, she majored in Criminal Justice, but she eventually left school and became a chef.
She cooked in Spain for some years, but when she returned to the U.S., Kelly changed her mind about the restaurant business and went back to modeling, something she had done as a child.
“My mother, she always said that if you’re not passionate about it, don’t waste your time,” she says. “I’m grateful for that advice. Very grateful for that support as well.”
For the Mother’s Day campaign, Kelly is featured alongside her daughter, complemented by another Coach campaign Kelly has been working on with her mother, to honor her iconic uncle Basquiat.
“Everything has been mixing around together, it’s been beautiful,” Kelly says. “Sometimes it’s hard, because I don’t have my grandmother still here, and I really miss her. Sometimes that nostalgia comes up when I think of Mother’s Day, this time of year.”
Kelly and her mother oversaw the ??entire Coach x Jean-Michel Basquiat collaboration, helping with the first round of apparel and picking the appearance of the exhibition. While Kelly was born after Basquiat’s passing, he stays alive in the memories passed down from her mother.
“Cute stories I was hearing as a kid, not knowing the gravity of who my uncle is,” Kelly says. “Now looking back at some of those things, those are the memories that I have. I don't have memories with him, but I had memories of really seeing who he is on the outside.”
Just like the bags and heirlooms we pass from generation to generation, so too these memories and family histories play a role in the story of our lives. Kelly now has a special Coach bag to hand down to her daughter one day, and from her grandmother, she has some wonderfully special yarn, and she hopes to one day create something special from that thread.
“So she has all of this wonderful yarn, and I don’t know how to crochet,” Kelly laughs. “She always made us blankets. I still have all of her blankets that she made, but I just feel like I want to get better at it.”
