Enjoy an in-person, three-course meal with beverage pairings from Boston chefs John daSilva and Stef Bui of Chickadee.
The James Beard Foundation’s Summer Taste America culinary series, presented by Capital One, will support chefs and restaurants across ten cities in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. For $300 per pair of tickets, diners' proceeds will directly benefit the featured restaurants and other programming within the foundation. The summer series kicks off in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 23 at Talula’s Garden. Other participating cities include Chicago, Illinois at Frontier, New Orleans, Louisiana at Saffron Nola and Los Angeles, California at Hinoki & the Bird. The series concludes at Chickadee in Boston on Monday, Aug. 30.
Each city’s tasting menu molds toward each chosen chef’s culinary style along with the flavors and culture of their local community. Awarded for their New England-born and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Chickadee’s tasting menu features a smoked potato pita starter, and a chilled Verrill Farm corn soup with peekytoe crab falafel to match. For the entrée, diners can choose between suckling pig three ways or roman-style artichokes with gnocchi alla romana. The dining experience concludes with a dazzling dessert of baked Alaska topped with native strawberries. Wine pairings have not been announced, but whiskey flights and cocktails will be provided from the Rabbit Hole Distillery.
Tickets for each city are now available for purchase on the James Beard Foundation’s website.
