How to Throw the Perfect Super Bowl Party

By Lindsey Paradis | January 26, 2018 | Lifestyle

Watch the big game from the comfort of home—surrounded by good friends, killer food, and drinks. We’ve got you covered on what you need to throw the best Super Bowl party around.

The Invite

First impressions are important. Show your guests that your party is the place to be with a fun digital invite. Punchbowl and Evite have some super stylish options perfectly themed for the big game.

The Decor

When it comes to football decor there’s a fine line between festive and tacky; keep it simple. Plenty of stores offer up themed tablecloths, lanterns, and other decor. Or look to Pinterest and DIY it; our fave finds include labels, a game-day paper chain, and turf coasters.

The Food

Pass on the pizza this year and impress your guests with takeout fare from some of your favorite Boston restaurants—made with the big game in mind. Loco (412 W Broadway, 617-917-5626) is celebrating the football season with its signature Taco Box. With easy online ordering you can create your own taco bar featuring fried fish, grilled avocado, chips, and more. Other local options include Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant (425 W Broadway, 617-765-8636) , which will be providing take out orders of game-day favorites such as spicy wings, pulled pork slider, and goat cheese dip.

However, if your plan to be the perfect hostess includes whipping up the grub yourself, have no fear. We have you covered with this delicious dip recipe from Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant’s Executive Chef Nick Dixon:

Momentum Changing Dip

Ingredients:

1.3 lbs of ground beef

1 pack (1 oz) of Taco seasoning

16 oz Sour cream

16 oz Salsa (mild)

1 yellow pepper

1 red pepper

2 Cups taco blend shredded cheese

Salt & pepper, to taste

Jalapenos (optional)

Fritos Scoops, for dipping

Directions:

Season beef with salt and pepper. In a medium skillet, brown ground beef and mix in taco seasoning. In a glass pan layer ground beef, sour cream, salsa, diced peppers, and jalapenos (optional). Top with shredded cheese and bake at 375, or until cheese is melted. Serve with Fritos scoops.

The Drinks

The Entertainment

Super Bowl BINGO has become a party fave, whether you’re watching for the game itself or the commercials. There are a ton of printables online, so pick your preferred board and start playing!
