Naughty or nice, treat your party guests to this festive sip from Coquette.
Sip the season with this sweet, spiced holiday cocktail.
Flavors like eggnog, cardamom and ginger sit on the tip of our tongue as we enter the Christmas season. While nostalgic sips and bites always hit the spot, start a new tradition with one of Coquette’s (coquetteboston.com) holiday cocktails: the Aphrodisiac. “The inspiration was a take on a delicious Puerto Rican style of eggnog called a Coquito,” says Coquette’s principal bartender, Thiago Prado. “Instead of using coconut milk, we went with an egg white sour, which gives a viscous body similar to an eggnog but is not as rich. This cocktail features a blend of Coconut Cartel añejo rum and Ten To One white rum, lending both bright flavors and baking spice aromatics, which are reminiscent of the holidays.” You’re just a shake, strain and cinnamon shaving away from your favorite new tipple.
INGREDIENTS:
.75 oz of Coconut Cartel rum
.75 oz of Ten To One white rum
.75 oz of lemon juice
.75 oz of cinnamon and lavender syrup
Barspoon of creme de noyaux
2 dashes of Peychaud’s
1 egg white
DIRECTIONS
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass, including the egg white. Dry shake for about 30 seconds. Add ice and shake again for about two minutes. Double strain into a coupe and garnish with three sprays of orange blossom water and mole bitters, three Peychaud’s dots and freshly shaved cinnamon.
