This Oct. 29, foodies can indulge in the ultimate spooky tasting menu.
Halloween is for more than tricks and treats. At Cambridge’s Harvest restaurant, executive chef Nick Deutmeyer is cooking up a delectable tasting menu dinner bursting with seasonal flavors. Wander down a cobblestone pathway tucked in Harvard Square to find the contemporary New England eatery. Those lucky enough to secure a ticket can take a seat inside the cozy dining room, where a roaring fireplace wards off the evening chill. Then, the magic begins—a six-course experience with pairings. Start with the whole roasted hog’s head, featuring cheddar scallion arepa, Carolina gold barbecue, pico de gallo and cracklin. The feast continues with bites like Russian rillettes paired with The Zombie—house rum blend, apricot liqueur, blood orange and lime—and orange garlic pigeon breast. Just be sure to save room for dessert: Devil’s Food Gateau, made with dark chocolate, cinnamon, bird’s-eye chili and blood orange.
