Brace yourself for a tale of romance and betrayal as Boston Ballet presents Giselle. Watch as the iconic titular character learns about the power of heartbreak. How far will she go for love?
The company’s production is particularly special as ballet master and former principal dancer Larissa Ponomarenko adds her veteran touch. “Giselle is the foremost romantic ballet in the classical repertoire,” says Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen. “It has been 10 years since Boston Ballet last performed Giselle, so it is time for its return, this time with a new version.”
From the hauntingly beautiful storyline and costumes to the demanding female corps de ballet, this production is both emotionally gripping and technically challenging. Sept. 19-29, tickets from $37, Boston Opera House, 539 Washington St., bostonballet.org
