The French Cultural Center hosted its 43rd Bastille Day Block Party on Marlborough Street in Back Bay on Friday, July 13. The sold-out event attracted nearly 2,000 people to celebrate the la Fête Nationale and francophone cultures around the world with live music, dancing, French food from local Boston restaurants and vendors, and children's activities. The celebration was a perfect start to a French-filled weekend, which included the French national holiday and France's World Cup victory.

Musical guests for the evening included Haiti's Lakou Mizik and Malian singer-songwriter Sidi Touré. This year's food was provided by Petit Robert, Bar Boulud; Bastille Kitchen; Boston Cheese Cellar; Juliet; La Voile Catering & Events and La Voile Boston and Brookline; Les Sablons; Miam Miam Macaronerie; Mr. Crêpe; Waffle Cabin; and Wilson Farm. Beverages were provided by Vinadeis, Kronenbourg 1664, Kronenbourg Blanc, Lillet, Pernod Ricard, St. Killian, and Heavenly Spirits. Event sponsors included Ropes & Gray and Delta Air Lines, along with First Republic Bank; Marcum; Stern McAfferty Architects; Jean-Paul and Rebecca Valette; and Gérard and Brigitte Moufflet.
