A bold fashion statement may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Italian League Football, but Fendi is making sure this season stands out in more ways than one.
The Italian luxury fashion house and AS Roma collaborated on an eye-catching wardrobe for the Roman football club players, resulting in a line of very official chic and sporty pieces. It’s a sensible collaboration, given that Fendi was founded in Rome in 1925, and the football club founded in the famous city just two years later.

"The idea within this collaboration,” says Silvia Venturini Fendi, Fendi artistic director of accessories and menswear, “is to reinterpret Fendi’s and AS Roma’s codes and values creating a meeting point between the sports and fashion world through a common denominator; Roman roots and a strong link to the eternal city.”

The line beautifully embodies the romantic and sophisticated culture of Rome through a line of navy blue pieces that include a fitted sweater, slacks, and a fresh take on the trench coat that boasts a hoodie and cargo-esque pockets.
The team’s iconic yellow and dark red serve as delicate accents to make the simple pieces feel more intricate. It should come as no surprise that the pieces are made in Italy from the highest-quality materials.
The line serves not only as a homage to the homeland of Fendi and AS Roma, but as an iconic moment in fashion. In the era of the athleisure takeover, Fendi puts a couture spin on what is otherwise an everyday look.

The convergence of high fashion and athletics goes to show that an elevated fashion sense is not limited to those who value runway and designer brands, but to anybody who wants to add a level of worldliness and refinement to their everyday style.
This line aims to show that streetwear pieces can look polished and unique through simple accents and a cohesive color palette throughout the look.
The new collection will be presented at the start of the 2022-2023 Serie A season, while the partnership is set to last through the 2024 season. Look for the official launch at the end of August 2022, see more sketches of the collection below, and learn more at Fendi.com.
