Treat your tastebuds to Douglass Williams’ fifth Boston restaurant.
A piece of Paris has officially landed in Fenway. From MIDA’s Dougless Williams, DW French takes inspiration from Black American culinary moments in 1880s Paris, the Harlem Renaissance and the chef’s personal journey with French cooking. The contemporary, classic-style brasserie, nestled in the Pierce Boston, features red leather banquettes, white subway tile, a light blue bar and a 30-seat patio for alfresco dining.
But just wait until you try the food—french onion soup with port wine braised beef, escargot en croute, beef bourguignon sandwich, hake en paillote topped with a tart lemon sauce and more dot the menu. Sips from the beverage program, crafted by MIDA partner and sommelier Seth Gerber, will complement each bite: Think small-production French wines decanted tableside, craft cocktails infused with artisan French spirits and mocktails.
Plus, decadent desserts end each evening on a sweet note, like crème brûlée, profiteroles and tart citron. Saturday and Sunday brunch are also in the works, launching soon with classics such as pain purdue and croque madame. Between the bites and overall experience, Williams strips away the intimidating reputation of French fare to create a warm, soulful moment centered around the pleasure of sharing. 1391 Boylston St., dwfrench.com
