ARGENTINA & CHILE

STAY The Four Seasons in the exclusive Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires is a contemporary building styled after a 20th-century French mansion. In San Pedro de Atacama, Chile’s geographically unique desert, enjoy sweeping views of the Andes mountains and the sounds of the San Pedro River from the serene Nayara Alto Atacama.
DINE Experience the unique opportunity to dine at Buenos Aires’ Fogón Asado, where Argentine classics are served at just one seating each night, cooked over an open flame.
SEE Discover architectural gems on a walking tour of San Telmo, one of Argentina’s oldest neighborhoods; learn the art of tango with world-class instructors; explore Chile’s 3,000-year-old Tulor Village; visit the Cejar Lagoon and experience the surreal sensation of floating in salt-rich waters surrounded by volcanoes; cycle through the dramatic rock formation of the Catarpe Valley; and take a sunrise excursion to the Tatio Geysers to witness the mystical steam columns rising at 4,300 meters above sea level.

RWANDA & THE SERENGETI

STAY The One&Only Gorilla’s Nest is the closest resort to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, a rainforest home to diverse wildlife, including golden monkeys and over 340 mountain gorillas. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the natural world perched in the trees in a private treehouse or from the balcony of a luxurious suite. At Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti, you’ll stay deep in the heart of the wild reserve where lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants and rhinos run free. The lodge, perched on elevated platforms and walkways, sits next to an animal watering hole where you can safely watch animals stopping by for a sip.
DINE Sit down for a torchlit dinner in the middle of the Serengeti National Park under the watchful protection of Maasai warriors.
SEE Take a private guided gorilla trek in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park through misty jungles to observe endangered mountain gorillas up close; take in the breathtaking vista of the Serengeti National Park from a hot air balloon at dawn; spend the day at the Ngorongoro Crater where Africa’s big five are often spotted against the backdrop of a 1,968-foot crater wall; hike Mount Kilimanjaro on a less-traveled western route through tropical montane forests that borders Kenya’s Amboseli National Park and glimpse elephants moving through the trees; volunteer at the Robanda Secondary School and help plant trees, collect water or paint buildings; and take any number of classes and workshops like spear throwing, Tinga Tinga painting and Maasai beading workshops.
