The Friends of the Public Garden Green and White Ball
On Friday, April 26, 2019, the Friends of the Public Garden will host its highly anticipated spring gala, the Green and White Ball, at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston. The co-chairs for the 22nd annual event are Ashley Harmon (Beacon Hill), Amanda Pratt (Beacon Hill), Jessica Schmitz (Beacon Hill) and Lisa Taffe (Beacon Hill). Last year's event raised $650,000 for the care of the Boston Common, Public Garden and Commonwealth Avenue Mall. Around 300 guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner and dancing while event partner Marc Hall will dazzle guests with his floral inspiration for this year - the rose.
Over the past two decades, the Green and White Ball has raised over $6 million to renew, care, and advocate for the Boston Common, Public Garden, and Commonwealth Avenue Mall, which has been the mission of the Friends since its inception 49 years ago. Proceeds from the events have provided critical funds for annual care and major improvement projects in the parks, to ensure the health and beauty of these important green spaces.
On May 15-19, the 23rd Annual Wine Festival will return to Nantucket! Throughout the week, top chefs will be on hand demonstrating culinary talents while more than distinguished winemakers will be leading wine tastings and educational seminars. The Grand Tasting is the keynote event held at the White Elephant on May 18. Guests can sample more than 600 different wines from 150 wineries around the world. https://www.nantucketwinefestival.com/
