Streetwear has truly become the look of the people, and it can be just as luxurious as a cashmere sweater or Prada bag. Indeed, it can be exactly that, thanks to the Italian luxury fashion house’s ongoing collaboration with legacy streetwear brand Adidas.
The two have worked together on sleek collections of high-end cool since 2019, but come Thursday, Jan. 13, that collaboration goes even further into the future—and a sustainable one at that.

The Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon Collection moves beyond the two company’s previous sneaker collabs with a full-fledged ready-to-wear collection of tops, bottoms, accessories and bags.
Moreover, the entire collection is crafted from Prada’s signature Re-Nylon fabric, an infinitely-recyclable blend of repurposed plastic waste collected from the world’s oceans and Prada’s own cutting room floor. Indeed, Prada has phased virgin nylon out of its lines completely, as of late 2021.
For this collection, Prada’s team worked with Adidas designers to pay tribute to the German brand’s classic Originals Forum. Familiar Forum High and Low silhouettes are elevated with Prada’s sleek fabric, paying homage to the traditional looks while appearing far more futuristic than ever before.
Large totes, over-the-shoulder bags, bucket hats, tracksuits and sharp sneakers gleam in the sleek and smooth Re-Nylon. Each item of the 21-piece collection was made by Prada in Italy and drips with luxurious cool.
What’s more, Adidas and Prada will mark the momentous collaboration with a move to the Metaverse, and fans of both brands are invited to participate. It’s a three-dimensional collaboration, as customers join in open-source co-creation of digital assets, putting their own personal mark on the new looks.
How this will all shape up in practice remains to be seen, though Adidas already found much success with its Bored Ape NFT collaboration in December of 2021.
