On October 30, 2019, Moxy Boston Downtown, the Theater District’s hottest new hotel, hosted their Grand Opening party, after which party-goers headed across the street to a performance of “Rent” at the Shubert Theatre as part of the hit musical’s 20th Anniversary Tour.
Party guests entered Moxy Boston Downtown’s Grand Opening party by the hotel’s food truck-inspired photobooth, after which they were invited to walk the pop art-inspired living red carpet. Upstairs in the 2nd floor Bar Moxy, guests enjoyed music from an electric violinist along with creative cocktails, a raw bar and light bites from the team at Lyons Group, while taking in the high-energy experience. A digital tattoo artist was set up in the hotel’s meeting space on the third floor, and the hotel’s Theater District-inspired interior was highlighted by in-room silent disco activations on the 23rd floor produced by CSI DMC. Guests took in the incredible city skyline views offered by The Mezz, the hotel’s 24th floor rooftop lounge, before heading across the street to the Boch Center’s Shubert Theatre for the show. Cast members from “Rent” walked the red carpet at the Moxy Boston Downtown party and mingled with guests before heading back to the theatre for the performance.
