On May 17th, the Friends of the Mass General Cancer Center brought a little bit of sunshine to a rainy day at its annual Spring Luncheon, held at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston. The Friends of the Mass General Cancer Center is a group of volunteers who provide special care services to Mass General Cancer Center patients and their families at no cost, bridging exceptional medical and supportive cancer care through innovative programs.
The inspirational group, led by Brenda Warshaw, President, Sylvia Fernandez-del Castillo, Vice President, and co-chairs MaryLynn Antonellis (Belmont, Mass.), Marion Martignetti (Osterville, Mass.) and Leslie McCafferty (Lexington, Mass.), helped raise over $100,000, bringing the total amount raised for the group since its inception to $6.75 million. The luncheon for 300 featured keynote speakers, Cambridge authors and Boston Marathon bombing survivors, Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes.
