From the Head of the Charles Regatta to charity galas and local festivals, this October is proving to be fun-filled month.
Head of the Charles Regatta is a beloved fall outing.
Here we go again! The legendary show is taking over the North Shore Music Theatre with 15 performances. With hits from ABBA like “Dancing Queen” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!,” the Broadway show shares the story of a bride-to-be and her search to find her real father. 54 Dunham Road, Beverly, nsmt.org
Find yourself in Spain at Mass General Hospital for Children’s Ferdinand-themed gala. As one of the most popular charity events of the year, the Storybook Ball has raised a staggering $32 million over the years for pediatric infectious diseases. Boston Book Festival
Everyone needs a good fall read. Why not pick out notable novels with Boston’s favorite authors as well as Pulitzer Prize winners? The Boston Book Festival’s street fair lets authors and audiences connect through select outdoor programming—or over foodtruck fare and live music in Roxbury. Head of the Charles Regatta
The Charles River has attracted masses of rowers and spectators since the competition was first held in 1965. As the world’s largest rowing race, more than 11,000 athletes travel to Boston to compete. For remarkable views, fans are encouraged to watch the race at the Elliot Bridge Underclosure. You can also gather with alumni and their favorite teams at the Reunion Village. 2 Gerry’s Landing Road, Cambridge, hocr.org
