The 15th annual Party in the Park, held at Franklin Park on May 31, 2018, is the Emerald Necklace Conservancy’s signature annual fundraiser and raises support for special restoration projects and maintenance of Frederick Law Olmsted’s landscape masterpiece—the Emerald Necklace parks—which wind through 13 neighborhoods in Boston and Brookline. The event featured the presentation of the Liff Spirit Award, given this year to Kelsey Wirth, founder of Mothers Out Front, for her impact on the preservation of parks and open space. The Emerald Necklace Conservancy, in collaboration with its public partners, protects, restores, maintains and promotes the 1,100 acres of meadows, woodlands and paths of the Emerald Necklace park system— Boston’s largest—of six distinct parks.
